Intra-Party Democracy and Experience Gained During the First Czechoslovak Republic on the Example of the Agrarian Party Abstract and keywords The author investigates the topic of intra-party democracy during the First Czechoslovak Republic. He focuses primarily on the Agrarian Party. To be specific, he examines internal structure of the Agrarian Party and its compliance with the principles of intra-party democracy. He also carries out an analysis of legal environment of the First Republic with respect to the regulation of political parties and evaluates its potential impacts on intra-party democracy of political parties of the time. In Part One of the thesis, the author describes the internal situation in the Agrarian Party. He explores all the areas of the party's activities, namely in the order they are addressed in the organisational rules. The author takes a closer look at the greatest leaders of the party, intra-party disputes or political situation of the party in Slovakia and Carpathian Ruthenia. In chapters dedicated to the Agrarian Party, information is provided to which theoretical concepts are applied by the author later on. Fascist tendencies in peasant party in thirties of twentieth century Abstract (in English): This work will concern with fascist trends in peasant party during the thirties of twentieth century. This period is characterised by taking power or consolidation of non-democratic regimes and deepening the economical crisis. In this work we will try to find out if the fascist trends were incorporated in politics and speeches of republican party. At first we will describe the function of republican party in political system of Czechoslovakia. Then we will determine basic features of fascist movements based on the analysis of several authors, which will be compared with the manifestations of the peasant party and assess if there are fascist tendencies or not.

The Development of the agrarian party in the oeriod of the Firsz Czechoslovak Republic

The Bachelor's thesis focuses on the development of Czech, later Czechoslovak Agrarian Party. The thesis describes the background of the Agrarian Party and its gradual boom before the establishment of Czechoslovakia. The Party's founders and first political leaders from the second half of the 19th century are mentioned. The thesis also describes the Agrarian Party's attitude during the First World War and the establishment of Czechoslovakia. However, the thesis emphasizes mainly the Party's political activity during the First Czechoslovak Republic in 1918-1935. Furthermore, it describes results of elections from 1920 to 1935 and discusses the formation and activities of government coalitions. The text provides an overview of agrarian politicians in the highest governmental functions who made important political decisions. The thesis deals with the gradual development of the Party during the First Republic and also its internal conflicts. It describes Party congresses and organizational rise of the Party. Moreover, it illustrates the Party's attitudes towards other political parties or presidents of the Republic. 7 The present work deals is a biography of Professor JUDr. Cyril Horacek, who was a prominent national economist, educator and politician during the turn of the century and especially in the first third of the 20th century. It examines his life stories and personal development with an emphasis on his career economist, educator and policy with regard to his private activities and interests. In several chapters, especially those concerning economics, he puts his expert view and work into the context of that time economic thinking and compares them with the work and ideas of others Czech national economists of that time.

Land reform during the first Czechoslovak Republic

This thesis represents my attempt to summarise everything important about land reform taking place during the First Czechoslovak Republic. Land reform was a giant project lasting almost twenty years, whose consequences we can still feel today, be it either results of the reform or restitutional trials that are held to this day. Its enduring importance along with my interest in the era of First Czechoslovak Republic are among the main reasons why I have chosen this topic. Throughout writing, I've put emphasis on legal aspects of the reform where possible. The thesis is composed of nine chapters. Chapter one analyses the economic situation of land owners before the beginning of the land reform. The land owners are divided into categories by amount of owned land and these categories are compared from various points of view. Chapter Two is the most extensive one and it is entirely adressed to legislation of the land reform. The chapter is subdivided into three parts. Part One is also divided into several subdivisions, each of them explaining demands of each individual political party or movement. Part Two describes the story behind introducing the legal acts. The First Land Reform on the Estate Křivoklát

The Master's thesis aims to describe the time during the period of the first republic in the area of Křivoklátsko, concerning the land reform from the historiographic point of view, the mechanism of land reform, and its institutional and legal specification. The thesis outlines the atmosphere in the newly established Czechoslovak Republic and its relations to the former aristocracy. Moreover, it focuses on defending mechanisms of the aristocrats at that time, and it analyses the function of the Federation of the Czechoslovak landowners together with the Federation of the German landowners with help of the specific example of the aristocratic family of the Fürstenbergs, who were the last private owners of the Křivoklát castle. The paper deals with the land reform in relation to the land fond, mine properties, shareholding within the Buštěhrad railway, and real estates. It endeavours to map emerging remaining small estates in the Křivoklát estate, and determine the social status of the new owners. Antonín Švehla and the Czech Catholics in the period of the first republic

This thesis deals with the relation between the agrarian politician Antonín Švehla and a catholic party in the period of the first Czechoslovak Republic. This work is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is The Introduction including the aim of this work and the most important sources used by creating this work. The second chapter is structured in five other subheads and is called The Personality of Antonín Švehla. There is presented the life of this important agrarian, his political influence, the characterization of all three governments, in which he was the prime minister and his party's victory in parliamentary elections in 1925. The third chapter called Antonín Švehla's relation to catholicism is divided in four subheads. The core of this chapter is to analyse Švehla's views on religion, his relation to political catholicism, to catholic personalities and to Šrámek's Czechoslovak People's Party. The last chapter is The Conclusion which summarizes the main contribution of the thesis.
